Who are the emerging, growing companies just moving into production.
The risks of this strategy are the company finding problems along the path to production which necessitate additional fund-raising and dilution and loss of credibility with investors. Equally these problems may create enormous value for new investors.
Who are the emerging producers.
We need to find an up to date list..........
An interesting website, the Gold Stock Strategist, was very active a couple of years ago identifying many near and new producers, but many have now "emerged". And some are still explorers. The list is also interesting in terms of which companies appeared undervalued but then failed, and those which have since succeeded.
The market capitalisations here will not be accurate and some companies no longer exist or have been bought out. I will create an updated sheet.
ATW, bust. Starcore, poor, Hawthorne changed name, disappointed, New Guinea, poor. Alexis, poor - recent funding and a mill. Timmins, success. La Mancha success. Dynasty political issues Ecuador. Avion win - bought out by Endeavour. Metanor poor, but hope ? Sandstorm invested. Troy succeed. Richmont won but since closed one mine. Great Basin, died trying in S.Africa ?? Jaguar low stock, high debt. Oceana high and low flying. Gammon now Aurico, not bad. Wesdome ok, since closed one mine. Claude OK, Capital bought by Gammon gold (now AuRico) Orvana share price failed low cash but nearly there - turnaround? Golden Star serial disappointer but one day? High production levels but costs...Northgate bought by AuRico....another one.
The higher valued in this list are quality companies, though Lakeshore and San gold seem to have struggled badly coming into production but high grade deposits ? Osisko huge low grade seems very high value but big and safe. Allied Nevada incredible story linear rise, high silver production to come - wish I'd got this in 2008 up x15+, ANV has also struggled recently. Centamin T'Egypt problems but good mine. New Gold big names big wins. Vista need to look more closely have many interests including Midas Gold stake, Brent Cook rates Midas. Aurizon I like in Quebec - Hecla bid. GORO either great or a fake, Barrons dump article but big fans e.g. John Doody. Novagold Otto very scathing but big hedge fundies involved. Thomas Kaplan - on the board? George Soros - still? A Huge theoretical deposit. Mineable? At what price? Silvercrest strongly emerging. Gold Ore bought out by Elgin. Aura minerals high costs. Jinshan bought out by Chinese Co. Minefinders bought out by Pan American Silver.

A Longer List - Not sure if really more up to date ?

Kentor Gold - Production June 2012 - To review
I just started trying to learn how to pick Junior miners...I am as green as they come, but the one thing I wish I could get would be a list of some companies with potenial. It seems like exhausting work to go through the thousands of juniors to find a list of 25-50 or so that could be of real value. If such a list were available it would become more realistic to do diligence on those 25-50 companies rather than looking for a needle in a haystack of thousands of companies. Any tricks or resources that you would care to share with a newbie such as myself? Thanks in advance.

ReplyDeletesandspring ssp targeted production next year
I would like to suggest junior mining ETF.S Some of which are down more than 80% from their highs some years back Its a little safer for those that are a little scared to invest in just one stock.
